Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! You're welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks. Coolers are allowed (no larger than 14" x 14" x 14"). Please note that glass containers are not permitted for safety reasons. Picnic areas are available throughout the zoo.

Yes, strollers and wagons are welcome. We also have single and double strollers available for rent at the main entrance ($10-15). Wagons are not available for rent but can be brought from home.

Metro Zoo is open rain or shine! Many of our exhibits are indoors or covered. In case of severe weather (lightning, extreme temperatures), certain outdoor exhibits may temporarily close. Rain checks are not issued, but we recommend purchasing tickets online for flexible date options.

Yes! Simply get your hand stamped at any exit and show it when you return. Your ticket is valid for same-day re-entry only. Members can enter and exit unlimited times.

Pets are not allowed at Metro Zoo, with the exception of certified service animals. This policy protects both our zoo animals and your pets from potential stress or disease transmission. Service animals are welcome in all public areas.

Most guests spend 4-6 hours exploring Metro Zoo. To see everything at a leisurely pace, plan for a full day. We recommend arriving early to catch the animal feedings and keeper talks. Download our app to plan your route and check show times!
